ABC Renews Seven Hit Scripted Series; No ‘Happy Endings’… For Now

UPDATED: ABC just made its “no-brainer” renewals, picking up its strongest scripted series. That includes freshmen Once Upon A Time, Suburgatory and Revenge, comedies Modern Family and The Middle and dramas Grey’s Anatomy and Castle. (The renewal for Grey’s comes after the main cast signed new deals.) Surprisingly not on the list is sophomore comedy Happy Endings, but I hear that deal is closing, so the show will be back. Also expected to return are two freshman comedy series that didn’t make the first cut, Last Man Standing and Don’t Trust The B—-. Looking good is Shonda Rhimes’ midseason drama Scandal. Talks are still ongoing on a potential 13-episode pickup of Grey’s spinoff Private Practice, which logged underwhelming ratings this week after a promising start on Tuesday. The future of GCB and Body of Proof is unclear, with both having a shot depending on ABC’s new drama series choices. UPDATE: I hear Body Of Proof now looks promising — the procedural starring Dana Delany is a big money-maker for ABC’s sister studio ABC Studios. And of course, fellow bubble ABC series Cougar Town just found a new home at TBS. ABC is yet to make its unscripted renewals, which will likely come tomorrow, with Dancing With The Stars, The Bachelor/Bachelorette and Shark Tank certain to get the nod.

CITAZIONE

[...]Altri potenziali seghe mentali interrogativi interiori:
[...]

Latest from EW: Spoilers on Castle

Been anxiously awaiting this interview with Stana Katic. You did NOT disappoint. — @Boock76

You’re making me blush! As a thanks, what about some Castle scoop about the show’s other big couple: Ryan and Esposito! As you’ll recall, the season-ender found the twosome on the outs after Esposito backed Beckett over his partner, leading to his suspension. So how long before our favorite bromance is back on good terms? Jon Huertas thinks it shouldn’t take too long. “If I know [executive producer] Andrew Marlowe, I think he will probably have us [friends again] by the end of the first episode, scene 5,” he said. But it won’t be easy. “He will probably have that seed of distrust planted. I probably won’t trust Ryan as I much did before,” Huertas adds.

CITAZIONE
Joining Castle in Season 5

After a short break the Castle writers are already back at work planning out and writing the early episodes of season 5. Every year there are changes to the writing team with some writers leaving and others joining. Two new writers have been welcomed to Castle for Season 5 and the Castle team are looking forward to working with them.
Christine Roum who will also serve as Supervising Producer joins the team after working on recent ABC shows including the remake of sci fi series “V” and “The Protector” having started her television career writing for Law & Order in the 90s.
Writer and Co-Producer Jason Wilborn will also join the team this season having served as Executive Story Editor and Writer for shows including “Damages”, “Brothers & Sisters” and “The District”.
Roum and Wilborn will join returning writers Andrew Marlowe (creator), David Amann, Rob Hanning, David Grae, Elizabeth Davis, Terence Paul Winter, Shalisha Francis and Kate Sargeant who was promoted from Writers Assistant to Staff Writer last November.
Returning Executive Producers include Andrew Marlowe, Rob Bowman, Armyan Bernstein and David Amann.
With a strong team returning, the addition of some new creative minds and Andrew Marlowe at the helm Season 5 promises to continue the tradition of bringing a wonderful mix of humor and drama to our screens week after week.

CITAZIONE
SAISON 5: “IL Y AURA DE LA MÉFIANCE ENTRE RYAN ET ESPOSITO”

If Castle and Beckett got a lot closer in the season 4 finale, the other ‘couple’ of the famous cop show ended differently, angry with each other. Will Ryan and Esposito save their friendship despite of the strife opposing them in the season finale? This is certainly the wish of Jon Huertas :

“I really want to see their argument resolved soon so they can quickly return to the field together, then to solve crimes again, giving Beckett and Castle all the credit as usual,” jokes the actor who plays Esposito in Castle. “That said, I would love to see the writers extend and expand their fight a bit – but not too long…”

“I hope in the first episode of the 5th season, we won’t see them being friend again and act as if nothing happened. I think there will always be a kind of latent distrust between them now …”

Moreover, the Castle actor says he also wants to see the character played by Tamala Jones (Lanie), lying completely naked next to Esposito.

The 5th season of Castle will premiere next fall on ABC.

CITAZIONE
Latest from Ausiello: Spoilers on Castle

Question: Do you have any scoop on the season of premiere of Castle? —Ivy
Ausiello: Well, Castle and Beckett obviously know they hooked up, and we know they hooked up, but what about everyone else? “It’ll be fun to see who finds out about them being together — who stays out of the loop and for how long and how they decide to reveal all of that,” Stana Katic shared with us at the Critics’ Choice Awards, where she was a presenter. “That’s a big bombshell.” But speaking of bombshells, Katic feels that the unsolved murder of Beckett’s mother could hang a cloud over Kate and Rick’s otherwise happy coupling. “One of the things that I, as viewer, am curious about is … her mother’s murder. Even though the two of them have gotten together, that still looms over them.”

Question: Since it seems there won’t be much in the way of Castle spoilers coming out of Comic-Con this year, do you have anything you can share that will help us through the hiatus? —Rachel
Ausiello: The new season will pick up pretty much where last season left off.

Latest from Ausiello: Spoilers on Castle

Question: With no Castle appearance at Comic-Con next week, do you think you can give us some scoop to ease our disappointment? Been dying to know something about Season 5! Perhaps the season premiere title? Pretty please! —Cheryl

Ausiello: The title is still TBD, but the plot of the episode isn’t. I hear it’ll mostly revolve around Beckett’s mom.

CITAZIONE
Nathan Fillion ‘Castle’ Q&A: ‘I would love six seasons’

Nathan Fillion has revealed that he wants Castle to run for six or seven years.

The 41-year-old star told Digital Spy that he wants his ABC crime drama to “end strong” and not “die a slow death”.

“I think something that you guys here [in the UK] do really well is take shows, have incredible stories and then finish strong and wrap them up,” said the actor. “That’s something I can really appreciate.

“What I don’t want to see happen to Castle is… I don’t want to see it peter out and die a slow death, and be forced out.”

Fillion named six or seven years as his ideal run for Castle, which was picked up for a fifth season in May.

“I would like to do six years – maybe seven years, if it’s strong enough at that point – and then wrap it up,” he said. “Six years would be great, wouldn’t it? I would love to end strong.”

Castle airs on Channel 5 in the UK.
